New myFICO products offer lenders marketing opportunities

The launch of two new products at myFICO.com can add significant value for partners who offer myFICOsm services to their customers. With Equifax Credit Watch™ and the 3 Bureau Report with FICO® Score, lenders can expand their suite of products available for marketing and fee-generation initiatives, as well as improve customer relationships.

"Not only have consumers been requesting these products," says Fair, Isaac Vice President Sue Simon, "but so have our partners. The success of myFICO has created consumer demand for a broader range of credit empowerment tools. Our partners continually ask for new products to meet this demand in their marketing campaigns."

Equifax Credit Watch

Credit Watch, launched in late 2002, offers customers an early detection tool for fraud and identity theft by monitoring for credit report changes 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When changes occur, Credit Watch sends an automatic alert to notify consumers of a possible identity theft in progress.

The annual $69.95 subscription to Credit Watch also allows consumers to access their FICO score and Equifax Credit Report™ four times a year, and includes access to the FICO Score Simulator and $2,500 in identity theft insurance (with a $250 deductible) for victims of identity theft fraud.

"Empowering consumers to stop fraud quickly is in everyone's best interest," says Simon. "Identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes in America. Consumers need to maintain control of their credit, and they're looking for answers from a trustworthy source. Equifax Credit Watch provides this much-needed service."

3 Bureau Report with FICO Score

Launched in January of 2003, the 3 Bureau Report gives consumers access to their credit reports from all three national credit reporting agencies Equifax, TransUnion and Experian — for $39.95. Additionally, this is the only three-bureau report available that includes a FICO score, which is based on TransUnion data.

By accessing their credit information from all three reporting agencies with easy-to-read line-by-line comparisons, consumers are able to get a complete view of their credit picture. Because many lenders look at a similar report before making a lending decision, the 3 Bureau Report with FICO Score is especially helpful for consumers who wish to ensure the accuracy of their credit information before applying for a loan or other financing.

"There has been a lot of demand for a three-bureau credit report that also offers a FICO score," says Simon. "This will be the most complete credit report available anywhere. And its simplicity and readability will make it easy for consumers to monitor their files for inconsistencies and signs of identity theft."

Partner Opportunities

Consumer interest in myFICO products has soared following its Super Bowel ad (see "MyFICO goes to the Super Bowl with national TV ad" in this issue) and a number of recent high-profile endorsements — including NBC's "Today Show," ABC's "The View" with Barbara Walters, national newspaper columnists Michelle Singletary and Robert Bruss, and MONEY magazine, which called myFICO.com a "Best of the Web" credit tool.

Lending institutions are able to capitalize on this interest by partnering with Fair, Isaac to make myFICO products available to consumers. Partners not only generate commission revenue on product sales to their customers, but also use these products to acquire prospects and retain existing customers. Programs currently in place with leading financial institutions make myFICO products available through inbound customer service channels, credit card statement inserts and messages, direct mail, in-branch promotions, and even credit application decline letters.

"We're constantly impressed by the creative ways our partners are using these products to grow their bottom lines," says Simon. "With the addition of Credit Watch and the 3 Bureau Report, we've significantly expanded their opportunities for offering credit empowerment products to their customers."
