Training: Education Guidelines

Choosing a Training Program

We offer a number of different training programs for client consideration. Each program represents a different approach to delivery method, location, and pricing, and each has distinct advantages. We recommend clients review the options and select a program with us that best addresses their requirements and preferences. In particular, we offer:

  • Open Enrollment Programs at Fair Isaac
  • Training at Fair Isaac at Client Request
  • Onsite Training at Client Location(s)
  • Web-Based Courses and Seminars
  • Combination Approach

Please note that not all options are available for all products. The following describes the benefits and costs associated with each program type so that you can better assess the alternatives and determine the best approach to meet your needs.

Open Enrollment Programs

  • Most cost effective option for clients that have 1 to 3 people who need to be trained.
  • Classes are prescheduled by Product Education and delivered at one of Fair Isaac's training centers.
  • Participants enroll on a 'per seat' basis, at prices that are below the standard fees for client on-site education services.
  • Currently, we offer "Open Enrollment" classes for Blaze Advisor, Falcon, Debt Manager, and RMS.
  • Training tends to be generalized, since there will be multiple clients attending. However, this provides an excellent opportunity to network and learn from other Fair Isaac clients.
  • Should you be interested in when the next open enrollment session is scheduled, please visit the Public Course Schedule.

In-House Training at Fair Isaac Facilities, at client's request

  • Good option for clients that would prefer off-site education to minimize potential distractions. This approach is most economical when fewer than four individuals will attend the training, as travel expenses are the client's responsibility.
  • Training will be geared towards that particular client and their training requirements.
  • This option provides an excellent opportunity for clients to meet face to face with key stakeholders supporting their project. Your Client Partner can arrange meetings with your personnel to meet with the Support Manager, Consulting Manager, and/or Product Manager in order to follow up on any high priority items, as well as see product demos on areas of interest to your organization.
  • Pricing is structured as a flat fee for a course, with up to a maximum number of participants and one instructor.
  • Prices for courses delivered at Fair Isaac are discounted with respect to courses delivered at client sites.

Onsite Training at Client Location

  • This is high value training that is delivered to a specific client at their site.
  • If you have 4 or more students, this tends to be a more cost effective option then sending the team for training at a Fair Isaac sites or through open enrollment programs.
  • Training can be tailored to client's application/database so that it is relevant and specific to their business.
  • Work completed during training can be preserved for certain products, so that clients will not have to repeat work when they return to their offices.
  • Pricing is structured as a flat fee for a class with up to a maximum number of participants and one instructor. Client agrees to pay travel related expenses for the instructor, as incurred.

Web-Based Courses and Seminars

  • This option is recommended for courses that are 2-8 hours in duration and can be broken up into multiple sessions.
  • Content is typically a high level overview, as this approach is not recommended for complex courses requiring programming, and/or extensive hands-on work.
  • Client will need to have their application up and running so they can perform their hands-on exercises.
  • It may be difficult for the instructor to troubleshoot these sessions if an error occurs.
  • This option is not available for all courses.
  • Pricing for live or recorded web-based seminars is generally structured as a flat fee for a maximum number of participants; however, site licenses can be negotiated for clients seeking to roll out training to a large number of sites and/or personnel.

Combination Approach

  • A combination of the preceding four standard options can be employed.
  • Product Education also has 'pre-packaged' offerings of training that combine the standard methods.
  • We recommend this approach when a client has special needs and a flexible budget.
