Training: Education Offerings

Client Training Planning

Product training is a vital component of the Fair Isaac product implementation process.  It is important that clients engage Product Education early in the planning phase so that training receives adequate attention, is properly timed, and focused on well defined objectives.

Our initial training planning discussions with clients are intended to provide guidance at a high level for engaging Product Education at the best times before, during and after product implementation. We work with clients to ensure that training is timed with their product implementation cycle, emphasizing the value of early education for optimal learning and project success. We also prescribe in general how clients can fulfill their ongoing and advanced training needs through additional classroom training and other methods of practice and study. These early discussions typically result in the inclusion of the minimum critical training services for product implementation in the purchase agreement or statement of work between the client and Fair Isaac.

Once the implementation has kicked off, we recommend that clients engage us to perform a brief Training Planning project. First, we revisit the training that has been proposed in light of the evolving implementation requirements. Second, we conduct more detailed and longer term planning. The primary intent of this exercise is to develop a more complete understanding of the client's training requirements and how they will be addressed. For example, we work with the client to better understand the business processes, work flows, roles, responsibilities, and tasks that employees will be supporting. We also consult with the client to answer the following questions:

  • Are there additional phases of the project or other groups of employees that will need the standard set of courses?
  • What additional advanced level training will be required?
  • Will internal staff be delivering Fair Isaac product training? (If "yes", we recommend a Train-the-trainer Program.)
  • How will QA, Support, IT and Call Center teams ramp up at the right time?
  • Will end users and other project team members require support during "go live" with the solution?
  • How will new hires and replacements be trained when there is project team turnover?
  • Is consultative assistance needed with the development of customized training presentations, manuals, or hand-outs?

Based on our joint review, we solidify the client's training requirements, and produce recommendations for a tailored training program that defines the courses and audiences. We also create delivery strategies for clients that require training at multiple/many sites, a combination of classroom and web training, or other considerations.

Our recommendations are coupled with a timeline for optimizing learning and application in the client's environment. This welds the client's education experience with the product implementation cycle. For example, we typically provide "Product Fundamentals" courses during the project "Define, Design, and Develop" phases of implementation to get the project team up and running so that they will have the necessary knowledge to make key decisions and perform system tasks. In also is important to consider post implementation education, which will keep the client on target and maximizing the return on Fair Isaac solutions, so we address the longer term objectives in the plan we produce.

We recommend that existing clients visit our Identifying Training Needs section periodically to determine when additional training would be advantageous.
