Train-the-trainer Program

This provides a roadmap for understanding Product Education's Train-the-trainer programs and policies. For our purposes, a "train-the-trainer" program is a product-specific training course that prepares participants to deliver Fair Isaac product training to their employees, partners and/or clients. All clients and partners who want to deliver Fair Isaac product training should attend a Train-the-trainer program.

Participants must complete the standard Fair Isaac courses for the product, or have equivalent experience with the product, prior to attending Train-the-trainer. They also must have academic or corporate training experience. Our programs do not train professionals how to teach, as a general discipline; rather, we focus on preparing people to deliver professional quality training on our products at a high level of technical accuracy, using our content and methods.

Typical Goals of Train-the-trainer Program Participants:

  • Becoming authorized by Fair Isaac to deliver training on our products;
  • Acquiring our training materials for use in their classrooms; and
  • Learning our best practices for Fair Isaac product training delivery.

Fair Isaac clients and partners who acquire our training materials will pay licensing and annual update fees, and will incur additional charges if they deliver billable training to their partners or customers. Our standard agreement provides one hard (printed) copy of materials to each student. Clients or partners who request soft copy for translation purposes may be provided such under special provisions and legal protections. For more information regarding licensing arrangements, please contact us.

Our Train-the-trainer programs prepare candidates to deliver live, instructor led product training in the classroom. We do not recommend that our classroom courses be delivered via the Web, as they were not designed for this medium. Portions of a class, such as an overview, could be delivered via web, but this is something that should be carefully considered, and we do not offer a specialized train-the-trainer course that would address or assist with these adaptations.

We believe our Train-the-trainer programs and assessment/feedback model provide solid indicators of candidates' performance and readiness to deliver Fair Isaac product training. We also know that the learning curve for teaching Fair Isaac products extends well beyond the Train-the-trainer program. Typically, instructors will need several years of training delivery experience in order to expand their knowledge of the product, business application, and industry. Instructors also should attend subsequent train-the-trainer courses for new product releases.

Potential Duration of a Train-the-trainer Program

As a general guideline, Train-the-trainer classroom time will be two to three times the duration of the course being learned. Candidate instructors also are encouraged to study a minimum of two hours for every one hour of course material. A complete program, including individual study, planning and preparation, and classroom work, typically will elapse over one to two months. Pricing will be based on the number of days of effort by the Fair Isaac instructor in preparation, classroom delivery, assessment, and follow up.
